DRESS CODE Your school uniform confirms your attendance at Blessed Sacrament School and is a symbol of unity within the school community. In addition, it minimizes distractions in the learning process. It is important that you take pride in your appearance by wearing your complete uniform, always remembering that by wearing it inside and outside the classroom and the school, you are representing the school and your behavior should be a credit to yourself, your family, and the school community. Gym Uniform - Boys and Girls (Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 8): Navy blue school sweat pants Navy blue school gym shorts - Kgn to Grade 4 only - September, May, June Navy blue school tee shirt Navy blue school sweat shirt Sneakers and white socks N.B.: Students may wear their gym clothes to school on gym day. PLEASE NOTE: ALL UNIFORM ITEMS SHOULD BE PURCHASED IN YOUR CHILD'S CORRECT SIZE. BAGGY CLOTHING IS NOT APPROPRIATE OR ACCEPTABLE IN SCHOOL. Jewelry: 1) Girls are permitted to wear small button or hoop earrings-no larger than a quarter-one earring per ear. Boys are NOT permitted to wear earrings. 2) All students are permitted to wear one necklace/chain under their uniform blouse/shirt. 3) Students may wear a watch and one bracelet per wrist. 4) Students may wear one ring per hand. 5) Body piercings are not permitted for boys or girls; i.e., tongue, eye brow, lip, etc. THE SCHOOL DOES NOT ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOST OR STOLEN JEWELRY. Make-Up: Make-up, artificial nails, and nail polish are NOT permitted. Hair: Hair should be clean and well groomed. Hairstyles must be appropriate for the school setting. Fad hairstyles are NOT permitted; such as, dyeing, razor designs, Mohawks, etc. Boys' hair may not be worn over the collar; boys may not wear braids. Bangs should not be so long that they impede vision. Inclement and Cold Weather Guidelines: 1) Only the school sweater or school sweat shirt may be worn in the classrooms. No other sweaters, jerseys, sweat shirts, or jackets are permitted. 3) On rainy or snowy days, boots may be worn to school. Personal Appearance: Uniforms should always be neat and clean. A good personal hygiene routine should be followed daily: ears, neck, and fingernails should be given special attention. When appropriate, children should be instructed in the use of deodorant. |
